                                             Bobcat Ceremony
Materials: ceremonial log to hold eight candles, bobcat badge

Cubmaster: (lights single white candle in middle)

Scouts, these candles represent your goals in Cub scouting.  The
lighted candle represents the spirit of Cub Scouting.  This spirit is
always bright in your leaders, your fellow Cub Scouts, your family,
and yourself.
The candle of the spirit of Cub Scouting is used to light the three
blue candles to the side of it, which represent the three points of
the Cub Scout Promise: your duty to God and your country (light
candle), your duty to yourself and to help other people (light
candle), and your duty to the Law of the Pack (light candle).

We now light the four remaining gold candles which represent the
four parts of the Law of the Pack.. The Cub Scout follows Akela
(light candle), The Cub Scout helps the Pack go (light candle), The
Pack helps the Cub Scout grow (light candle), The Cub Scout gives
goodwill (light candle).

We are very proud to welcome our new Bobcats and their families
into Cub scouting, and ask that you keep the spirit of Cub Scouting
burning in your lives.  In recognition of the families support of your
son’s hard work, we present the Bobcat badge to the families, who
in turn will present it to their sons.
Congratulations!
                     Tiger to Wolf Ceremony
Equipment:  4 large candles, Tiger badges
Three candles all in a row with 4th candle above and behind the others.

Akela:  These scouts have completed their Tiger requirements and
are ready to receive their rank advancement.  Please bring your
parents forward when your name is called.  (call names)

Akela:  For the past few months you and your adult partner have
explored all sorts of new and exciting things and places.  You have
taken each part of the Tiger Cub motto, “Search, Discover, Share”
and used it in your home, school, and neighborhood.

(light first candle)
Akela:  You have searched in your home and community for new
activities that have shown you how people work together and have
fun together.

(light second candle)
Akela:  You have discovered that by doing things together with
friends and family you feel you are part of a great family,
community, and country.

(light third candle)
Akela:  You have shared you adventures with you family, friends,
and fellow Tiger Cubs, and that helped you all become a stronger
den.

(light last candle)
Akela:  You have fulfilled all the requirements of wearing the Tiger
rank badge.  Your adult partner will now pin it onto your shirt.

(while badges are being pinned to shirts)
Akela:  For the rest of this year, you will continue to have fun in your
Tiger Den and earn additional Tiger Track beads.  When school
ends, you will begin the trail to Wolf.  In Cub Scouting your family is
very important.  Support in earning each badge comes from your
family as well as from your den leader.  Your adult partner will help
you each step of the way.

Congratulations to each of you on earning your Tiger Cub badge!!!!!
                                                 Bobcat Ceremony
Materials:  Campfire Prop
badges and pins or tape for affixing to uniform

Akela:  The spirit of Cub Scouting burns here as it does in the
hearts of Cub Scouts everywhere.  The Cub Scout spirit is like a
campfire.  We must add wood to the fire or it will go out.  In the
same manner, we must add new boys to our pack, or the Cub
Scout spirit will go out.

Baloo:  We have (#) boys who have earned the right to join our Pack.

Akela:  Are they ready to  join in the Cub Scout spirit?

Baloo:  Yes, and they have learned the ways of our tribe.  They have
learned the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub
Scout Motto and their meanings.  They have also learned the
meaning and proper use of the Cub Scout sign, salute, and
handshake.  They know what Webelos means.

These are the boys ready to join our Pack.  When I call your name,
come forward with your parents....
(Baloo calls the boys who are to receive the Bobcat badge)

(Both Akela and Baloo hand the badge to parents and congratulate
the Cubs with the Cub Scout handshake)

Akela:  Parents, present the Bobcat badge to your son.  Attach the
badge to his uniform upside down.  Once he completes a good
deed, the badge should be permanently attached right side up.
The parent pin reminds you that Scouting is a family program.

Will the new Bobcats join Baloo and me in saying the Cub Scout
Promise?

All:  I, _________, promise to do my best
to do my duty to God and my country
to help other people, and
to obey the Law of the Pack.
