Cub Scout Promise
I promise to do my best to do my duty
To God and my country, To help other people,
And to obey the Law of the Pack.

Law of the Pack
The Cub Scout follows Akela.
The Cub Scout helps the pack go.
The pack helps the Cub Scout grow.
The Cub Scout gives good will.

Cub Scout Motto
Do Your Best
Wolf and Bear Dens have both a Den Leader and an Assistant Den Leader.  No longer do the boys
need their adult partner to show up at every den meeting with them.  However, family support is still
very important in the Cub Scout Program.  The Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader will plan the
weekly program and meet with their dens and may occasionally ask for assistance from parents as
their talents and resources can be very beneficial to the Cub Scout den.
Your Wolf and Bear dens will have opportunities to participate in Pack meetings.  Prepare your scouts
by having them ready to perform a couple of
Skits and Games.  By having a Wolf or Bear favorite
ready, your scouts will look good, have fun, and increase their confidence through leading the pack.

cubby thought
Choose two skits and games before Septembers meetings and do them at your first den meeting.
Don't wait until your Cubmaster calls on you for a skit.

Many packs award the Wolf and Bear badges at their Blue and Gold banquet in February.  Since we
begin our programs in September that only gives us approximately five or six months to complete
requirements.  You must plan out what requirements your den will complete at their meeting and what
is expected to be done at home.  So make a schedule so everyone knows what is expected.  A
calendar kept up to date helps families keep track of their scouting commitments.

Den newsletters, e-mails, and individual updates once a month will help parents and cub scouts stay
on track with den activities, pack activities, advancement, and any special trips that may be happening.

For Den Ideas see the Miscellaneous Page and
attend Cub Scout Roundtable each month.
