| "WE'll BE LOYAL SCOUTS" Webelos Scouts are still in Cub Scouting. They take part in Cub Scout pack meetings, events, and outings. But the Webelos den also makes its own plans and enjoys many activities too advanced for younger boys. The program is different in many ways from the experience of the younger Cub Scouts. Remember, they are older, taller, and little bit more mature than the others. Webelos don't do achievements and electives. They work on activity badges. The Webelos den uses activity badges as their monthly program themes. When a Webelos Scout completes requirements, he takes his book to his den leader or adult designated as the activity badge counselor to be signed off rather than his parent. Webelos Scouts have several parent/son overnight camping trips during the year to help prepare them for Boy Scouts. They may also have some other special outdoor activities that the younger Cub Scouts are not involved with to help prepare them for the transition the Boy Scouting experience. |

| Webelos to Scout Transition It is very important that the Troop "representative", the Pack "representative", and the Unit Commissioner each makes sure that there is an ongoing yearly Troop-Pack relationship so that the Webleos feel comfortable when they cross over and not like strangers in a very strange land. Lenape District is Holding its Webelos to Scout Transition Orientation October 25th at Jersey Shore Council to help units out. Every Unit will receive information regarding time. It is very important that you attend!!! |
