This page is for parents/guardians of potential and registered Cub Scouts of Lenape District.
Although you may not be in Lenape District you may find some useful information regarding the
Cub Scouting program on this website.  Our parents are of boys grade one or age 7 (Tiger Cubs)
to boys grade five or about age 10 or 11.

This family program covers citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness in
every aspect of its organization.  We have den meetings once a week, a monthly pack meeting
where all the dens gather with their families, and special activities run by volunteers through the
district and council.

Where do Parents come in you ask?  Scouting is a family program.  The leaders in the Cub
Scouting Packs (also called Units) are mostly volunteer family members.  Occasionally a
community member will help out or a previous Scouter will help out.  Those are people who may
have previously had boys in the Cub Scouting program.

On the Cub Scout Application you read the Tiger Cub Promise or the Cub Scout Promise and a
PARENTAL AGREEMENT to assist your son, the pack leaders, the pack, or in the case of the Tiger
Cub be the adult partner he needs to join the pack.

There are many opportunities for training, gathering information about the Cub Scouting program,
and you have started by looking here.

Attend Monthly Roundtable Meetings if you are involved with a Cub Scout Pack already and want to
get information on Activities, Monthly Themes, Ceremonies, and meeting other Pack Leaders.

The Beacon - Parent newsletter mailed directly to families semi-annually.  It is used to
help inform and educate families about various Scouting programs at the Jersey Shore
Council.

<Note>The majority of Scouts that stay in scouts have strong family support in and for the Scouting
program.

Allergy Alerts!!!

If your son has an allergy to
anything you must notify his
leaders.  This is very important!!

Did you know that peanut oils
aren't just found in foods?  They
can be found in crayons or
paints!

If a child has a bee allergy, then
going on a hike in the woods isn't
a good idea in the height of bee
season.

Informed leaders can make
informed decisions.
